राजा विशाल का गढ़
वैशाली(Vaishali) बिहार राज्य का एक प्राचीन शहर है। शहर के उत्तर में 6 फीट x 10 फीट ऊंचाई का एक विशाल टीला है, जिसे राजा विशाल(King Vishal) का गढ़ के नाम से जाना जाता है। एक संरक्षित स्मारक और भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण (ASI) द्वारा बनाए रखा गया, इस स्थान का एक बड़ा ऐतिहासिक महत्व माना जाता है, जो वाजियों और लिच्छवियों के समय से मौजूद है।
इतिहासकारों ने राजा विशाल का गढ़ को 6ठी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व की संरचना के रूप में बनाए रखा है और दुनिया के पहले लोकतांत्रिक गणराज्यों की सीट के रूप में भी कार्य किया है। माना जाता है कि 81 एकड़ में फैले इस स्थान को प्राचीन पार्लियामेंट हाउस का अवशेष माना जाता है। मौर्य काल (321-185 ईसा पूर्व) और शुंग काल (185-73 ईसा पूर्व) के समय से इस स्थान पर एक मिट्टी की प्राचीर और किलेबंदी भी है।
राजा विशाल का गढ़ स्थल पर उत्खनन ने 185-73 ईसा पूर्व तक मानव बस्तियों की उपस्थिति को स्थापित किया है, जो 600 ईसा पूर्व की कलाकृतियों के साथ हैं। साइट में एक जल निकासी प्रणाली और गुप्त, कुषाण और शुंग काल से वस्तुओं का भी पता चला है। इस स्थान का इतना इतिहास और प्राचीनता अपने आप में जुड़ी हुई है कि आपको इसे सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एक यात्रा देनी चाहिए।
Vaishali (Vaishali) is an ancient city in the state of Bihar. There is a huge mound of 6 feet x 10 feet height in the north of the city, which is known as the stronghold of King Vishal. A protected monument and maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the place is believed to have a great historical significance, dating back to the times of the Vajis and Lichchhavis.
Historians have maintained King Vishal's citadel as a structure dating back to the 6th century BCE and also served as the seat of the world's first democratic republics. Spread over 81 acres, this place is believed to be the remnant of the ancient Parliament House. The place also has an earthen ramparts and fortifications since the Mauryan period (321–185 BCE) and the Sunga period (185–73 BCE).
Excavations at Raja Vishal's citadel site establish the presence of human settlements dating back to 185–73 BCE, with artifacts dating back to 600 BCE. The site also has a drainage system and items from Gupta, Kushan and Sunga periods have been unearthed.
